Lebanese food

Today I'm going to get lebanese food, and yet again you will miss out. As a result there won't be any posts here for a while.

Thank you for the Turkish Stars hat. I take it you saw them during the Turkish Gallipoli commemoration.

I tried on the jacket but it was too short in the arms for me. Maybe you could use it for Winter Wednesday Walking.

Sounds like you are making the most of your time in Istanbul. I hope the next tour starts out well.

  1. So that's what I did with the apple tea! I wondered where I left it! Sorry it created a mess.

Glad you like the cap. I saw them outside our hotel in canacale during the commemoration but no one at it saw them, while we saw them twice! In fact although I missed the speeches, we saw the boats practising the sail past (our ferry almost ran into the coast guard vessel escorting the sail past, and we ended up on a totally different course because of it. At first the ferry put on a burst of speed to try to cross their line before them (that's when it discovered the coast guard vessel) then it had to go parallel to them, so it went a long way up past its usual course. Difficult to argue with eight war ships and a coast guard vessel!

  2. The Dardanelles are so narrow that the war ships cant really maneuver - they just need to go straight ahead. That's why they were all mined on 18th March, because they all turned at the very last place they could, and it was mined. So the ferry was really the only one who could change course because the line of ships was in the narrow section.
