OK, I thought something like that would be the case. I will download the emails later today. I might even have a look at them.

The cockatoos may have given up on the oak tree, but this morning they have taken up residence on the wires and the deck railing. Yesterday I started to do the periodic repairs of the deck railing where it isn't under the deck roof, and to keep things dry I'd wrapped the bit I was repairing with Gladwrap. Naturally enough, the cockatoos decided that they had to investigate the Gladwrap and rip it off.

Over the weekend the cockatoos found the bag of spare pegs we keep under the bench on the deck. They tore a hole in it and chomped on a few of the pegs.

Today looks like starting off as another nice day, but then deteriorating as a cold front moves through. Then it's back to winter.

  1. You poor person! The cockatoos appear to be persecuting you! Today is not very exciting as we are driving to izmer for 1.5hours then catching a plane to Istanbul.

  2. This hotel is nicer than the previous one in Istanbul. The room is smaller, in fact it is really really small, but it is cooler and it has a balcony. I think i will book here for when I come back if breakfast is good. It is very central and the people are nice.

I visited the carpet museum which was very small but has carpets from the 12th century. They are all very worn with many holes, but it is amazing that textiles that old even exist!

  3. Are you sure it was cockatoos? Sounds like possums or rats to me.
