Roses

No idea why roses are considered lucky in Turkey, or what they were celebrating on the 5th of May. Tried to look them both up but couldn't find anything.

No, I didn't watch the cockatoos attacking the pegs. That was an assumption on my part, supported by the mangled pegs and the accompanying acorn waste.

I did, however, see them playing with the Gladwrap and frightened them off before they could pull it off. The next time I looked, the cockatoos were back and the Gladwrap was on the ground.

  1. It is gypsies rather than Turks. There are evidently a lot of Gypsies in Turkey in fact our guide said she was part gypsy and she used coffee dregs to tell fortunes. Most of them were similar. There was someone waiting at home.
