This must to holiday season in Turkey. The rose celebration that you had before, and one today - Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day. That mst be one of the longer names for a public holiday.
The history in the years following World War I was particularly difficult, and didn't show any of those involved in a good light.
