Last night at Kars we had a home cooked style meal from a womens cooperative. It included goose, things like ravioli, a soup with a bit of everything including whole lentils,sour cherry, green herb, tomato and noodles. It was the best meal i have had in Turkey.
Julia,nice heather, helen and I seem to be ending up together for meals more often than not. However today Lady marcia (and she really is a Lady - probably one of the last) insisted on sitting with me for lunch - I thought I was persona non grata. And the other Heather has actually smiled at me and sat opposite me at breakfast and was nice!

It is possible that some people are mellowing.
Of course it could be some stupidly snobish thing like Julia and I going to tintern. Lady Marcia and the other Julia went to toorak ladies college.
