You will be an expert on Istanbul's public transport system by the time you leave! It's not really surprising that the public transport system is good if the traffic is as bad as you've described. All those people have to get around somehow.
In your journeys it sounds like you found some areas where Turks shop rather than tourists.

Today we will be exploring the shops. Nice heather is still here for all the days i am and we decided to meet today, go to the grand bazaar and the other bazaar i want to visit together. She is going on two full day culinary walks that are highly recommended but cost $125US each, tomorrow and Monday. I am umming and ahing about them. Doing two is rediculous, and the one on Monday is more like what I want to do. We have booked to visit the princess islands on Tuesday, and I really want to go to the city museum which is closed on Thursday. I missed seeing it last time I was here because it was Thursday. I guess I could see it on Wednesday, but that is cutting it fine if I get lost going there. I also don't want to be using public transport tomorrow. I think heather is silly to go tomorrow but she figures they will make sure there isn't any danger. The culinary walks dont pick up from your hotel, whereas the princess islands tour does.
ReplyDeleteI have decided. I won't do the culinary walks. I will do my own variation on Sunday or Wednesday and if heather wants another day together we can do the other day.
